Important Information

The tl;dr with the most important things you should know before you travel

  • Passport: Make sure you have a passport that will be valid (unexpired) through the duration of your stay

  • Currency: the Euro; though credit/debit cards are widely accepted

  • Languages: English and Irish are the two official languages, so you'll see signage in both languages, although English is typically the spoken language

  • Electricity/Adaptors: the electrical plugs in Ireland are different from the US. We recommend bringing a travel adaptor for your electronics. 

  • Driving: In Ireland, you drive on the left side of the road. If you are renting a car and would like to drive a vehicle with an automatic transmission, be sure to pay attention to that when making your reservation, as the default vehicly type is typically a manual transmission.
